Free NDS Game Brix DS For Nintendo R4 DS Brings Homebrew Puzzle Fun To Your DS Or DSi

I love writing about Nintendo R4 DS card homebrew games.  I absolutely love to check out the latest NDS homebrew games or homebrew applications for the Nintendo R4 DS.  I will never stop being thankful to all of the homebrew developers that make these amazing nds games and applications in their spare time for us to enjoy absolutely free.  They don’t do this for money, they don’t really do it to be a commercial success - as they’re releasing it for free. It’s really something they do for the sheer love of making games.  And the pleasure of having thousands and thousands of Nintendo DS R4 users play and enjoy the games they create.

And speaking of NDS homebrew games, there’s a new game I happened to find (and quickly downloaded) last week called Brix DS.  I love puzzled games, especially puzzle games that steer clear of your normal puzzler and offer up something unique.  I’m sure you know what I mean - Not the mainstream type of puzzle game where you’re clearing blocks or matching colors, but puzzle games that are unique in their game play and more importantly, offer up a totally new kind of puzzle experience.  Thankfully Brix DS doesn’t lack in the unique department, offering up both unique gameplay and a bit of a different take on your avaerage puzzle game, too.  Brix DS in it’s third version - and Brix DS V3.0 has only gotten better.  This 3rd version of the game adds yet another 16 high quality levels and puts the total number of levels in the game to an amazing 73 levels.

The principle of Brix DS is simple: do not drop dynamite on the ground, and remove all the gray bricks level by level, simply by touching them with the stylus.  As you make your way through each level you’ll have more and more bricks to get rid of, and it’ll be a whole lot harder to keep that dynamite off the ground.  To mix things up a bit, there are dark grey bricks that you can’t get rid of, so you’ll have to make sure you’re taking them into account as you remove each level of the light grey bricks.  Now, you may think it’s super easy to balance the dynamite, but the problem is that you can’t get rid of bricks quickly, there’s a re-charge period between each brick you remove - about 2 seconds where you have to watch and wait.

The game works and is fun because it goes from being something very easy to getting harder and harder the longer you play.  The first few levels are easy, more of a way to get you accustomed to the game itself, and as you progress through the levels you’ll find it getting harder and harder.  This game is one of those games that you can play over and over again, and if you’re lucky enough to have a Nintendo R4 DS card you can start playing it for free right away.

The absolutely best featur of this game is how the developer supports it with constant updates.  In fact, several dozen new levels have been added since it’s v1 release, and Nintendo R4 owners defintely want this trend to continue.  And naturally, just as the game itself, each of these updates is completely free to all Nintendo R4 DS Card gamers.  There’s absolutely no charge for updates or new levels I have never even heard of, much less owned any commercial game that can boast that updates and new levels are free, not on the Nintendo DS or DSi anyway.
