Let’s commence with a quick brief of what WoW mining is all about:

Mining in World Of Warcraft is best combined with the following other professions: Blacksmithing, Jewel-crafting or Engineering as some of the material you collect in mining can be used then for the other chosen profession.

Asother players in World Of Warcraft are possibly to impatient or could not be concerned with actually mining the materials themselves, this means you can collect up the resources or materials and sell them to other players via the AH. This can be a great way of making some gold. You will primarily be collecting the following items when you mine in World Of Warcraft, they are are: metals, stones and some gems. As mentioned blacksmiths, engineers and jewel-crafters require these. Some monsters also drop mining items when killed.

Gathering professions such as mining can be time consuming to level up so the fastest way would be to just purchase the items that you need from the AH.The option of rather buying your mining materials however can cost you lots of gold so rather get your hands dirty or even better just go and create some more gold with my gold making tips page noted at the beginning of the article.

To begin mining you will require the following:

1.Get trained in mining by a trainer
2.You will need a pick to mine which you can buy from a merchant
3.A pair of the cheapest gloves you can find and then get them enchanted with a +5 mining skill enchant which should cost around 2 gold..
4.Go buy yourself a mining helmet. It will add +5 to your mining and these are made by engineers.
5.You need to find a mineral vein to start collecting the ore.

Just quickly: The helmet and gloves are an optional item but I do recommend that you get them as it just makes it a lot easier and betters your chance to be successful when you mine.

Here is a list of the mining trainers and their positions:

If you are playing Horde then head on over to Vengeance Landing in the Howling Fjord and locate Jonathan Lewis.
Alliance players go to Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra and find Fendrig Redbeard or you can search for  Grumbol Stoutpick in Valgarde, Howling Fjord.

OR Both factions can go to Dalaran and search for Jedidiah Handers in the Magus Commerce Exchange.
I have included all the mineral veins locations and types and a full 1-450 mining guide on page 2 of my WoW mining guide website. Go and check it out here:
